NEW CRANES FOR HALTERM

New cranes have arrived at the Port of Halifax for HALTERM. The heavy load carrier ZHEN HUA 19 transported the cranes from China anchored at the port in the Harbour North of Georges Island seen here on August  23rd. The vessel is a modified tanker built in 1984. IMO No 8026907.
DWT 30,451 tons. Registered in St Vincent and the Grenadines.Call Sign: J883447. The cranes will allow the terminal to sevice the new generation Post-Panamax containerships.

HALTERMS NEW CRANES ARRIVE

Heavy load carrier ZHEN HUA 19 anchored at Halifax,N.S. on 23rd August 2013.
These are the new Post-Panamax cranes for the berth extension at the Halterm terminal,Halifax which is located to seaward of the two harbour span suspension bridges. The Fairview Cove terminal in the Bedford Basin cannot receive assembled cranes in this manner due to clearance limits.
