NORDIC MISTRAL at IMPEROYAL
Crudeoil tanker NORDIC MISTRAL alongside the Oil Dock at IMPEROYAL on 6th July, soon to be a rare site in Halifax with the reported closure of the Imperial refinery. The question is what strategic importance is this facility today respecting the great importance placed on its existance here in the past century. Is Halifax now just another way station on the march of History? What of our naval requirements? It seems too few questions are being answered by Local,Provinvial and Federal politicians. I for one believe some requirement for marine fuels must be maintained here, both from a commercial and a strategic necessity. What say the usually vocal political heads?
