VECTIS HARRIER

New build cargo vessel VECTIS HARRIER shown here outbound in the Narrows AM September 8th 2012 shows her Dutch designed X Bow and unique profile  while passing Tufts Cove.
This  configuration is the ‘Groot Cross-Bow’ developed by Holland’s Groot Ship Design. The shape of this wave-piercing bow is designed to reduce the amount of installed propulsion horsepower needed and to reduce pitching and slamming in heavy weather. It is also suitable for sailing in ice under Swedish Ice Class 1A classification.
